Plant of the Week: Hyacinth

Plant of the Week: Hyacinth

A single hyacinth flower is capable of scenting a whole garden with sweet perfume, and their plump, brilliantly colourful flowerheads are one of the great highlights of spring. It won’t be long till they burst into flower, so now is the perfect opportunity to pop into the garden centre and pick up a bowl full of ready-grown bulbs just on the point of flowering. Enjoy them indoors on a sunny windowsill, or on your doorstep to welcome you with a waft of sweet perfume each time you open the door. Alternatively, simply plant them outside where you can appreciate their stately flowers each spring for many years to come.
