Plant of the Week: Ivy

Plant of the Week: Ivy

There can be few plants more versatile than the English ivy. It comes in all colours, not just green; look out for prettily variegated varieties edged in silver or gold. It’s happy in sun or shade, the perfect choice to cover the ground with greenery even in dry shade or disguise an eyesore.

Ivy is super-easy to look after and a real survivor, shouldering through the harshest weather unscathed. Winter wildlife relish the nectar-rich flowers and nutrient-packed berries. It’s just as happy indoors, too, making an elegant, easy-care houseplant that curls fetchingly from hanging baskets or bookshelves to fill your home with soft green foliage.
